Qualities of a Leader
Organizations invest a large amount of money and resources to select managerial personnel with leadership qualities and to train employees to be more effective leaders. If an employee is not properly trained to become a leader, he or she will lack vision and might find it difficult to face challenges in the workplace. What does it take to be an effective leader?

The main qualities required of a leader are self-management and social and work facilitation. Let's look at a few qualities that leaders
should possess:

Leaders should be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. They should know in which situations they function at their best and what situations they find difficult to handle.

In an organizational environment, employees deal with functional and dysfunctional conflicts caused by different priorities, personalities, ideas, and stresses. Therefore, leaders should be able to understand the causes of conflicts. They should also be able to balance between conflicting demands and find strategies to solve the conflicts.

Leaders should have the ability to recognize when new behaviors,
attitudes, or skills are necessary. They should embrace change and get involved in activities that will promote the acquisition of skills or behaviors needed for change.

Leaders should take initiative, have entrepreneurial drive, possess
strong communication skills, and have an optimistic attitude. They
should be able to work effectively with team members, build and
maintain relationships and effective work groups, and help develop
others.

Organizations consist of many individuals and groups, and everyone has to work together toward reaching common organizational goals. To accomplish these goals, leaders should have the management skills necessary to implement and coordinate work. They should also set up team goals and monitor the progress toward accomplishing goals.

Leaders should have the ability to think creatively and take risks in
implementing innovations. They should also be able to influence team members to participate in a change, if required.

Livescan Level II Fingerprint Screenings In the Glades

This service is offered to eliminate a barrier to health and human service providers who had no local access to background screening services until the launch of our program. GORSKI Relapse Prevention School (44 CEUs, In 5 Days, for $695)

Instructed By: Terence T. Gorski and Dr. Stephen F. Grinstead

November 4-8, 2013 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

Terence T. Gorski's advanced relapse prevention training has been "a turning point" in both the professional and personal lives of many former participants. The Gorski schools began in 1982 in Chicago, IL. Since that time, over sixty schools have been conducted with over 4,000 people completing the training.

This advanced clinical skills training experience is designed for professional therapists who are good and want to get better. It may be the most challenging and effective training that you have ever attended.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to develop comprehensive Relapse Prevention Plans for identifying and managing both high risk situations in early recovery and the core personality and lifestyle problems that lead to relapse in latter recovery, after initial stabilization.

The Gorski Relapse Prevention School is continuously updated with the latest research and uses a proven training method that includes:

  1. Brief Lectures that explain the purpose of each technique and why it is important;
  2. Clinical Demonstrations of each RP technique,
  3. Role Play to practice and receive feedback on your use of each technique,
  4. Small Groups to discuss progress, problems, and applications to your personal style;
  5. Discussions of how to apply the techniques in your professional setting.

Do you want to take your current clinical skills and integrate them with new and powerful approaches for identifying and managing the high-risk situations and core personality and life-style patterns that lead to relapse? If you do, this is the training for you!

Important Notice: An optional RPT Competency Certification that requires the completion of a competency portfolio and an additional fee.

Terence T. Gorski and Dr. Steve Grinstead personally conduct the five-day training experience.

Training Fee: The cost of the training is $695 for the five day training experience (travel, meals, and lodging are not included in this fee).

Florida Location: Ocean Manor Hotel, 4040 Galt Ocean Mile, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 on November 4-8, 2013 (Special hotel rates will be available for those who register early). This is an ideal training location with beautiful grounds and excellent amenities located on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
