September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month! People all over the nation, including parents, educators, coaches, physicians and community leaders, are taking a stand to fight childhood obesity. Supporters are participating in events that promote healthy lifestyles and spreading healthy messages through newsletters and social media.

With one in 3 children in the United States overweight or obese, childhood obesity puts kids at risk for health problems that were once seen only in adults, like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
