Two soccer shoes planted firmly on the ground. One large step for Afghan girls..... one major step for mankind.
Greetings!
Wondering what to do with the remainder of this weekend? Khaled Hosseini's new book, "And the Mountains Echoed",arrived in bookstores this past week. I bought one an hour ago. I'm headed to the park. Before you do the same mark two dates in your calendar. Our Spring Cleaning for Afghanistan packing party is only 13 days away, June 8th. A follow up newsletter will be sent soon with the details.
The second date to mark is December 13th. Khaled will be our keynote speaker at aTIE Fun Raiser, to be held at Acalanes High School in Lafayette. Yes, it's a Friday. Whatever our luck may be during the day, the day will end on a positive note. At a minimum we will have heard Khaled speak, answer questions, and he will have signed as many books as time and his endurance allow.
Khaled has been one of TIE's most ardent and steadfast supporters for years. We share his passion for helping Afghans rebuild their lives and country. Khaled also lacks an exit strategy for the work his foundation in doing in Afghanistan. To learn about that work Click Here.
See you in the park. I'll be the guy propped up against a tree with a couple of Snicker Bars wrappers by his side. Don't wake if sleeping.
Best,
Budd
