The State of The Union speech was Obama's moment of vindication

"We have risen from recession freer to write our own future than any other nation"

"It's now up to us to choose who we want to be over the next 15 years & for decades to come"

As the Republicans sat lifeless ... somber, subdued & mum

The President dropped his reserve veneer to delight in having proven his critics wrong

Asserting job growth, health insurance, lower gas prices, GOP misguides all along

America's jobless rate is well below 6% & stock market nearing record high

However, Republicans are more upset which makes one wonder why?

Maybe the shadow of crisis has passed or Obama's job approval rating is up in grade

Our deficits cut by two-thirds & we've seen the fastest economic growth in a decade

In his 60-minute State Of The Union address President Obama spoke about foreign policy 

He vowed to deflect potential cyber threats while protecting individual privacy

The GOP responded by inviting Israeli leader Netanyahu to speak to Congress about Iran

Another recalcitrant move by Speaker Boehner ... you know that guy with the bad tan

The President talked about new tax cuts & credits to usher in a new middle-class economy

Republicans thought it was time to dust off two-time loser Mitt Romney

Obama pushed to make community-college free to help many advance

Pledged domestic carbon cuts & a new global deal by year's end in France

GOP's first line of work in House & Senate, social issues & a dirty pipeline for another nation

Females revolt against their GOP leaders on abortion, same-sex marriage & immigration

Obama has set the tone; everyone deserves a shot at the American dream we share

When women succeed, we all succeed & we deserve access to affordable health care

Honor our families, love is love, climate change is real & man-made

Support Organizing for Action & the Presidents critics will continue to fade

Celebrate Black History with the most powerful President in years 

With his poignant speech he proved his critics wrong & brought some joy inside my tears
