Men's Scarf Jacket & Paper Cubes

Men's Scarf Jacket

This pattern combines the elegance of easy fit and structure with simplicity of design.  It is cut to organically drape on the body with cut-in-one bias sleeves, an exterior bias front facing which morphs into roomy pockets, a self-fringed bias scarf/collar (never gets lost!) and a center front zipper. In a quality woolen menswear and with the cut-in-one sleeves, it allows for a lot of movement and comfort yet has a casual, polished look -- not too "sports" or "corporate".  There are only 4 pattern pieces with no tailoring or complex cutting techniques. Lined. Sized 40-44. Yardage listed on website. Details.

Paper Cubes @ The Ribbonerie
Saturday, November 9, 1 - 4PM
3695 Sacramento St,  SF, $55.00
To register, call: (415) 626-6184

This class is off the beaten path here but I've been making cubes forever and couldn't resist an invite from my favorite ribbon shop. Fold these origami ornaments to wear, display, or present -- weaving and folding a paper cube is an adventure in engineering and design as each forms perfectly mitered corners and appears to be a magic impossibility! You'll learn the secret process as we do them first in card stock and then in exquisite handmade papers for innovative jewelry, tree trimming, topping presents, lighting, special interior effects and more.
Limited enrollment, call her soon.

New Classes:
Me thinks it's time to offer a few core draping classes for the latest crop of curious types -- they rotate through, you know. So, at the end of March, I'll begin with the first of three, Draping for Fit. Then the next two will be Draping for Design I and Draping for Design II. Each will be an intensive day going from learning all the basic tools and fitting techniques (including draping a live model) through to beginning and advanced draped designs. You'll be launched! Then you'll be all set to create your own designs and perfect your style.
Details in the next month's email.

And now, make time to watch the leaves fall . . .  it helps one accept what is.

I wish you and yours the most beautiful autumn!
