December 12th is our annual office Christmas party. The office will be closed for celebration from noon onward. We will be open Dec 29 and 30th, closed the 31st from 12 onward and closed January 1st. For assistance during any of these times please contact the resident manager on duty.

We have been making some exciting changes, outlined below, including preparing for suite renovations in 2015.

 

NEW - 2015 Custom Suite Renovations

 

We are implementing an entirely new suite design in the Eau Claire Tower come the New Year! 

 

The renovated suites will include:

• New, eco-friendly flooring - hypoallergenic, laminate floor, with LEED credits
• Hard surface countertops
• Stainless steel appliances
• Customized furniture to enhance work stations
• Improved lighting
• Hypoallergenic pillows and sheets

We believe these customized suites will offer improved style and comfort for the guest. 

 

6th Streets Signs

 

We have installed new signage along 6th street, prominently displaying both the Eau Claire Tower and Manor addresses. We hope the new signage assists travelers in locating our furnished apartments easily and effectively.

 

  

Lobby Renovations

 

Guests staying at the Eau Claire Tower may have noticed we are renovating the Lobby. New flooring has gone in and new wall coverings are in the process of being applied as well. The result is improved ambiance with a brighter, more inviting, and more modern look.

 

 

Computer Station 

 

We are working towards offering a computer station in the lobby of the Tower, ideal for corporate clients here for temporary job assignment, or relocation, requiring access to office printer, scanner, fax machine. This room will include a sitting area to await taxis, laundry, or simply relax with complimentary coffee and snacks as well.

   

Safes Being Installed In the Manor

 

We have successfully installed safes in all of the suites in the Tower and in January we will begin installing safes in the suites in the Manor. Guests staying in the Manor will be contacted in the New Year with more information about dates and times of installation.

 

Safes provide guests staying in our furnished apartments with peace of mind and added privacy, knowing personal documents and items are secure.

 

These upgrades help us meet our promise to always provide immaculate modern and secure apartments.

This festive time of year brings many celebrations. Dinner parties, staff parties and more. If guests and their families are new to the city relocating, or on a temporary job assignment, it can be tricky to find reputable childcare, when they don't know where to look.

 

We have compiled a resource to help guests looking for childcare for a few nights out this month.

 

Here is a directory of babysitters in Calgary. Guests can simply search by community or postal code to find a list of babysitters near the furnished apartment or corporate housing property they are staying at.

 

Accreditation to look for are, do they have their:

• Red Cross babysitter's course? This accreditation means they have completed the necessary, basic training; responsibilities, safety, emergency procedures and more.  
• References you can call? It never hurts to do a background check if you are using new childcare. Ask for references.
• First Aid Training & CPR? These are definite bonuses.

More Tips for Selecting a Babysitter 

• Book a meet and greet. Call them and schedule a time to go over to meet with them and their parents. You will definitely get a feel for whether or not the person will be a fit for your family.
• Know the legal requirements. Minimum age requirement for employment in Alberta is 12 years old, with parental consent.
