When I first met Cheryl her warm smile and gentle nature
captivated me immediately.
To our bemusement and delight, we found her outside of the ExecSuite Eau Claire Tower every day for a week deadheading our garden beds.
Cheryl has been living in one of the suites at the Eau Claire Tower with her husband Gary for a year. This is the third time they have stayed with us at ExecSuite.
They stay because Gary has project work in the oil and gas industry.
Apart from gardening, Cheryl loves to walk. "I like to walk on a regular basis, when I see people out and about it motivates me."
"Staying here, it lends itself to getting out and going for a nice long walk. This location is ideal," she explains.
Gardening is one of her true hobbies. It has been a pastime of hers for over 20 years.
When I knocked on her door to ask if I could talk with her about it she shyly replied, "I thought you were going to ask me to stop."
Quite the opposite in fact, we would love her to continue as the happiness it brings her is contagious to the ExecSuite staff and everyone else in the building. Not to mention it makes our gardens look better.
Cheryl be careful, you might be getting a job offer soon.
We are glad that she can truly feel at home here, and we encourage her to continue to pursue what makes her happy.

Cheryl's Deadheading Tips:
- By deadheading flowers that have fully bloomed you stimulate the growth of more flowers, expanding the life of the plant.
- Don't just pluck the flower off, pinch it at the base of it's stem to encourage new flower growth.
- Petunias are a hearty flower, good for Calgary's climate. If properly cared for, Petunias can live into October.
- Some flowers do not require deadheading - research before you plant.
