BilinguaSing : What's On 4 Junior Awards WINNER

In September 2014, learning a foreign language became a compulsory part of the curriculum in English primary schools for Key Stage 2 children (aged 7 years and above).  Whilst this is a welcome move, is it really early enough to help our children catch up with their counterparts in Europe?  Children in continental countries often start learning a second, or even third, language much earlier in life.

 

When Berkshire-based languages teacher Ellie Baker had her first baby in 2012, she tried to find a baby-friendly language class. However, there was nothing suitable in the area, so she decided to set up her own music and language class, 'BilinguaSing'.  The classes won an award with Practical Preschool magazine the following year and in October 2014 five new franchise areas were launched in Lancashire, Hampshire, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire and another in Berkshire.  BilinguaSing is now seeking new franchisees to take the classes into other areas in the UK.
