"Special Announcement" edition

Message from Michael, SAF President

Alumni/ae & Friends,

Today, we take the opportunity to recognize and say, "Thank you," to a person who for the past fourteen years has been the driving force in advancing The Mission of Student Agencies. Dan Kathan ('70 MBA '73) is retiring from his role as CEO of Student Agencies, Inc. For a generation of Student Agencies' officers and managers, Dan has been an effective teacher and a caring mentor. In addition, for many of those students, Dan has also been a life coach and a second father. There have been few people in Student Agencies' history, who have better embodied our ideals, goals, and mission.

Fortunately, for all of us, Dan is not going very far. He will assume the newly created position of Managing Director with the Student Agencies Foundation ("SAF"). In his new role, Dan will work for the Trustees of SAF in our efforts to advance The Mission. Personally, as the new President of SAF, I could not imagine a more perfect partner to help with these efforts.

Please visit Dan's note in this newsletter for his personal thoughts on his retirement. Please also visit Nathaniel Weiss' note for details regarding our search for Dan's replacement at SAI.

Sincerely,

Michael Karangelen '90

President

Student Agencies Foundation, Inc

fAnnouncement from SAI CEO, Dan Kathan

Dear Friends,

After for over 14 years as GM & CEO of SAI, I have made the difficult decision to retire from a role I have loved, working directly with our students, an exceptional staff, and an extraordinarily committed Board.

Finding SAI's next CEO

Alumni/ae and Friends:

As noted in the pages of this newsletter, SAI's long-time GM & CEO, Dan Kathan, is retiring from that role. I know I speak for all SAI alumni/ae when I say that SAI would not be where it is today without Dan's strong leadership and dedication to bringing out the best in all of his students. We are sad to see him go.
