Dear Alumni,
Spring is just around the corner and with it comes lots of activities and ways to connect with the BCSSW community.
Please remember that the SSW Alumni Association Board meets monthly on the following dates: 3/28 and 4/25.
Meetings are open and we encourage you to attend to learn how you can get involved with BCSSW as an alum. If you're interested in attending a meeting, please email BCSSW Alumni at least a week before the meeting date so that we can include you in our food order and confirm the location.
Emily Greising, MSW '07 President, BCSSW Alumni Board

Interested in Joining the Alumni Board?
Deadline to apply is April 15th, 2016
If you are an alumnus of the School of Social Work looking to reengage with the school, consider becoming a member of the Alumni Association. It's a great way to give back and stay connected to the school and to other alums.
Currently the Alumni Association is looking to fill two open board spots. The board meets monthly through out the academic year. Board members also participate in various committees and attend events. We look to provide a board that reflects the diversity of our alumni, based on graduation year, concentration, background and experience.
If you, or someone you know might be interested in this opportunity, please email us your current CV, including graduation year and concentration to Armando Holguin

BCSSW Alumni Mentoring Program
Thanks to the efforts of Heather Slugaski '13 and Samantha Alves '13, the mentoring program began in January, and now have 10 mentors and 16 mentees enrolled. Mentors are alumni who have graduated in 2005 and earlier, and mentees are alumni who have graduated in 2006 and later. Quarterly email communication is expected (January, April, July, November) with the option to have phone or in-person communication if participants wish. Quarterly check-ins, as well as articles, will be sent by the program coordinators. Some of the mentoring topics will include: goals participants have for the mentoring relationship, leadership & teamwork, work-life balance, workplace challenges, and career goals. The program will run from January-December with the option of participants to continue a more informal mentorship if they would like. The program coordinators are hopeful that this program will run each calendar year in the same format. If you are interested in participating as a mentor or mentee, please email BC Social Work Alumni.
