Dear Alumni,

Spring is just around the corner and with it lots of activities and ways to connect with the BCSSW Community.  

Please remember the SSW Alumni Association Board meets monthly on the following dates: 3/30 and 4/27. Meetings are open and we encourage you to attend to learn how you can get involved with BCSSW as an alum. If interested in attending a meeting, please email [email protected] at least a week before the meeting date so we can include you in our food order and confirm the location.

2015 Distinguished Alumni Award Winners

The Distinguished Alumni Awards honor Boston College School of Social Work MSW or PhD alumni who have made significant contributions to the social work profession. This year two awards were handed out, during a ceremony held on January 9th at McGuinn Hall, to Colleen Fitzgerald, MSW '11, and James A. Martin, MSW '70.

This innovative course offered a unique field-based experience for a next generation of social workers devoted to shaping immigration policy. Services to Migrants: A Border Perspective included two weeks of intensive on-the-ground inquiry along the Arizona/Mexico border.

April 8th Book Club: All our Names by Dinaw Mangestu.

  • 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., Author's Talk, Gasson 100

April Service Day: Looking for alumni volunteers across the country to partner with the BC Alumni Chapters in organizing BCSSW involvement in this annual event. If interested, contact: [email protected]
