HWPP Responsive Component: Brief Proposals Under Review

The Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin endowment received 24 Brief Proposals for HWPP's Responsive Component funding opportunity by the due date of Noon CST on January 9, 2015.
These submissions are currently under review by a panel of experts in public and community health.
After the submissions are reviewed and discussed by the MCW Consortium on Public and Community Health, proposal teams selected to advance to the next stage will receive invitations to develop a live pitch presentation. The teams will present to the MCW Consortium on Public and Community Health during the group's March meeting.
HWPP anticipates that more information about the next Responsive funding opportunity will be released as early as Summer 2015.

Strategic Component Reminder: Leadership team applications due January 15

Through the HWPP Strategic Component, the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin endowment will invest in targeted health priorities. The first of these priorities is community-based mental and behavioral health.
To further develop this priority area, the AHW endowment is seeking a subject matter expert, evaluator and facilitator to work with HWPP staff members on a Leadership Team in 2015.
Applications are due January 15, 2015.

MCW Awarded "Community Engagement Classification" by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching

On January 7, 2015, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching awarded MCW "Community Engagement Classification." MCW received the honor after a rigorous application process documenting its commitment to community engagement.
MCW joined 83 other academic institutions in attaining this classification for the first time. The University of Nebraska Medical Center was the only other medical school or center among these 83 newly classified institutions.

Registration open for 12 free community mental health seminars hosted by the MCW Institute for Health and Society

The MCW Institute for Health and Society is hosting 12 community mental health seminars in the first half of 2015 on a wide range of topics. The sessions are held on MCW's campus in the evening at 6 PM, with optional networking time at 5:30 PM.
These free seminars are being hosted with the support of the MCW Office of the President and the Faye McBeath Foundation.
