You're Not Alone!
According to a recent report by the Pew Research Center
, nearly half of all adults aged 40-59 are considered to be part of the "sandwich generation": taking care of both aging parents and teenagers or young adults. If you or someone you know is feeling sandwiched these days, attached is a checklist of helpful tips for each generation of your family.
With expertise in both Elder Law and Estate Planning, I
am uniquely positioned to help families cope with the challenges of taking care of multiple generations. I spend a great deal of my time counseling families and helping them find the resources they need to better manage their finances and improve their quality of life.
|It Can't Happen to Me?
Each issue, I like to feature something trending in my practice. Recently, many of my clients are reporting problems with identity theft. In every instance, the person was taken completely by surprise and had to spend many hours restoring their identity and retrieving money gone astray from clever e-burglars.
Identity theft is clearly on the rise. In a report release in February, 2013 by Javelin Strategy & Research, almost 13 MILLION people were victims of identity theft in 2012. E-thieves made off with an estimated $21 billion in assets.
Don't let this happen to you! Take action today so you don't have to go through a very painful process. Read the attached report with a list of suggestions to help protect your identity and your valuable financial and personal information.

It's That Time of Year!
First of all, I'd like to extend a big THANKS to all of you who supported my MS150 Bike Ride last May. Thanks to you, I again finished in the Top 100 Honor Roll of fundraisers, and I exceeded my fundraising goal of $4,000. I couldn't have done it without you! I'm already in training for next year, spending some time on the California coast earlier this month doing many miles of serious hill work. I'm considering doing the MS150 from Irvine to San Diego in October. I will keep you posted. If you want to see your donor dollars at work, click here to see an amazing new breakthrough in MS treatment.
If you are like me, you still sense that rhythm of life that comes from the first school bell announcing a new school year. I've enjoyed the more relaxed pace of summer, yet I'm eager to jump back in to my various civic and nonprofit activities in September.
If you are looking for ways to lend a hand and support some great causes in the community, here are a few ideas:
