There are scads of things going on this summer all over Cape Cod, but the thing that's really got our blood moving is the big show this Friday July 11 at Provincetown Town Hall. Vintage Trouble is the hottest thing this side of Hades and they're coming to the end of the sandbar in a benefit for community radio. They're absolutely huge in Europe and they've been tearing up the late night TV circuit with absurdly great live performances on Leno, Letterman and more. If you know what's good for you, you've got your tickets already. If you're still trying to figure out which end is up, take our word for it -- you don't want to miss this show. Click on one of the videos below and we just know that you'll be as excited as we are for a big night out on the town with Vintage Trouble. Get your tickets here and now.

Here Comes Trouble
Some have described them as a cross between James Brown and Led Zeppelin. That sounds like high praise, but the praise can't be high enough for these well-dressed gentlemen on a mission. What mission is that, you ask? It's a mission to get everyone to set aside their troubles and their differences if only for a couple of hours while coming together to celebrate the power of music. And by golly, it works! Frontman Ty Taylor has the persuasive power of a tent-revival preacher, and the band takes that power to a level that puts fossil fuel to shame. This is fusion and fission all wrapped into one dynamic force.

Need We Say More?
Wait, don't answer that. Cause we're gonna lay it on thick either way. If our words don't getcha, try a little sample of these: | Vintage Trouble - "Blues Hand Me Down"
|
 | Vintage Trouble - "Run Like The River"

 | Vintage Trouble Performs "Still And Always Will" |

Waters and Sedaris We could rant some more about how great the Vintage Trouble show's gonna be, but maybe rock and soul's just not your thing. Perhaps you're more the literary type. If that's the case, then maybe we can interest you in John Waters' presentation of "This Filthy World, Volume Two." It's the kind of storytelling that only John can do, and it will include a question and answer period with the man himself followed by a book signing of his latest book, "Carsick," which tells the tale of the author's adventures hitchhiking across the country. You can catch John Waters at Provincetown Town Hall on Monday July 14. The Shawn Nightingale production will benefit your community radio station. Shawn has also named WOMR and WFMR the beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds of the David Sedaris show at Provincetown Town Hall on Friday August 1, so you've got several chances to fill the Hall with community radio love this summer. Many thanks to Shawn Nightingale for bringing such great talent to town and for including the station in the fun.

Did you know....?
WOMR/WFMR is having a raffle for a trip to Boston to see the Boston Red Sox play against the Tampa Rays on Thursday September 25. Two lucky winners will get a pair of tickets to see the game at historic Fenway Park, round trip tickets to Boston's Logan airport on Cape Air from Hyannis or Provincetown and a one night stay at the luxurious Boston Sheraton Hotel. Chances are $10 or 6 for $50. We're not very good at estimating the prices of things, but we're sure that it's an incredibly good bargain no matter how many chances you buy. The Red Sox tickets, the Cape Air tickets or the stay at the Sheraton would be worth at least ten bucks all by themselves, so the package that includes all of these things will be a really sweet deal for two happy people. Call the office at 508-487-2619 to get your chances to win. You can also buy tickets at Guapo's Tortilla Shack in Orleans during the month of July.
