Come Celebrate! USF Chapel Center 50 Year Anniversary Eucharist, Dinner, On Sunday, Nov. 18

 

TAMPA - This fall marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the USF Chapel Center, the first religious entity on the campus of the University of South Florida.

 

The Diocese of Southwest Florida will celebrate 50 years at the center on Sunday, Nov 18, 2012. The 50th year anniversary celebration with Bishop Dabney T. Smith will include current USF students who worship at the chapel and participate in its programs, as well as local clergy, Diocesan staff, U.S.F. officals and invited guests.

 

The event, which begins with an open house at 4 p.m., will include a 5 p.m. Eucharist followed by a pulled pork supper and fellowship. MORE    

 

Bishop Attends Province IV Meetings In Savannah 

 

 

SAVANNAH - Bishop Dabney Smith attended two separate Province IV region meetings of The Episcopal Church, which ran concurrently from Oct. 23-27.

 

It was Bishop Smith's first meeting as vice president of the region, which is the largest in The Episcopal Church. Province IV, also called the Province of Sewanee, encompasses the southeast as far west as Louisiana and North Carolina and Kentucky. MORE
