ST. PETERSBURG
- In a service at St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral, The Rt. Rev. Dabney Smith ordained four to the Sacred Order of Deacons.

The Saturday, Dec. 10 service, which included the full cathedral choir, came with strong congregational support, including St. Mary's Bonita Springs, St. Mary's Palmetto, Holy Trinity Clearwater, St. George's Bradenton, and St. Hilary's Fort Myers. The new deacons, pictured above flanking the Rt. Rev. Dabney Smith and the Ven. Canon Dennis McManis are, from left:
  • Charles Roy Allison, II (Nashotah House, Nashotah, Wisconsin)
  • Jean Ann Hite (General Theological Seminary, New York City, New York)
  • Michelle Alisa Ortiz (Sewanee/University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee)
  • Micheal John Sircy (School for Ministry Development, Sarasota)
Three of the deacons, the Revs. Allison, Hite and Ortiz, graduate from seminary this spring, and are set to move to missions and parishes in the diocese; the Rev. Sircy is now a vocational (permanent) deacon within the Diocese. Full images of the service are on the Diocese Facebook page, www.facebook.com/DioceseofSWFL.
