Hi All,
Hope you are having a great Spring season. RF sales always seem better at this time of year, at least for us. But I wonder how long this business will last as it collapses under the weight of so much music. Supply far, far exceeds demand. Still, hope springs eternal so we all keep whacking away and cranking out more and more music!

More Music Thievery!
|
Seem like there is no end to the greed of people that would steal our music and sell it as their own. With the global reach of technology trying to stop this is impossible. All we can do is shine a light on the bad actors and slow down the process. Read more for the latest examples.

Deciding on which string library to get?
| User "xeon92" asked:
"I currently run a very low end PC with access to only about 8GB ram, so the string samples I need have to be able to be light on RAM. Its going to be while before I save up for a proper PC (+$2k) so I'm stuck with this small setup for now." Read more...

Needs A Little Advice
| MuscoSound asks:
"I just finished this track: I've kind of gotten attached to it, and I am not really sure what I want to do with it. I'd like to get it on Beatport, but I'd also like to license it out. It's one of those things where I am not really sure what to do with it.". Read more...

| "joshrose" asked:
"So I'm trying to get serious about production music, and I'm preparing to start sending out tracks. My previous experience has only been with libraries like Pump Audio/Getty and that sort of thing. 2 years ago I sent out lots of CD's to libraries I found on this site, and never really heard much back. It was disheartening, and left a bad taste in my mouth. Looking back, it wasn't actually surprising, because I was just stripping vocals out of songs I had written, and calling them "production music." I think I write much better production music now, and I have a small playlist of examples ready to send out. So here are my questions...". Read more... |

An old geezer, who had been a retired farmer for a long time, became very bored and decided to open a medical clinic. He put a
sign up outside that said:Dr. Geezer's clinic. "Get your treatment for $500, if not cured get back $1,000."
Doctor "Young," who was positive that this old geezer didn't know beans about medicine, thought this would be a great opportunity to get $1,000.
So he went to Dr. Geezer's clinic.
This is what transpired.
Dr. Young: --- "Dr. Geezer, I have lost all taste in my mouth." can you please help me ?? Dr. Geezer: --- "Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in Dr. Young's mouth."
Dr. Young: --- Aaagh !! -- "This is Gasoline!"
Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your taste back. That will be $500."
Dr. Young gets annoyed and goes back after a couple of days figuring to recover his money.
Dr Young: "I have lost my memory, I cannot remember anything."
Dr. Geezer: "Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in the patient's mouth."
Doctor Young: "Oh no you don't, -- that is Gasoline!"
Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your memory back. That will be $500."
Dr. Young (after having lost $1000) leaves angrily and comes back after several more days.
Dr. Young: "My eyesight has become weak --- I can hardly see !!!!
Dr. Geezer: "Well, I don't have any medicine for that so -- " Here's your $1000 back."
Dr. Young: "But this is only $500..."
Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You got your vision back! That will be $500."
Moral of story -- Just because you're "Young" doesn't mean that you can outsmart an old "Geezer " !!!!

Robin's Yoga For The Stressed-Out Composer
|
Sacral Circles
There is little in this world so soothing and comforting as massaging your low back in sacral circles. We call them "sacral circles" because they consist of circling the area around your sacrum, which is the triangular bony structure at the base of your spine.
A word of caution before beginning: If you are currently experiencing acute low back pain I do not recommend this particular move. Consult your healthcare professional before proceeding. And of course, if you should experience any discomfort with any of the yoga exercise that I describe, stop immediately. Yoga is all about reducing suffering, so please be careful!
Now, if you're good to go, here's how: Start by lying on your back. You will want a soft surface, so this is best done lying on a mat or thick carpeting, and if your back is very sensitive you might add a folded blanket, too. Bend both knees and cup your hands over your knees, drawing them in slightly towards your chest. (Note: The closer in your hug your knees, the higher up on your spine you will feel the massage.) Inhale deeply as you slowly begin to circle your knees to the right. I recommend closing your eyes. Slow your breath and focus on the gentle massaging sensation in your low back. Circle the knees slowly at least four or five times to the right before switching directions and circling your knees to the left.
Now extend your legs straight out in front of you, take a deep inhale and catch your opposite elbows overhead, stretching like when you wake up in the morning. Now exhale out the mouth with a big "Ahhhhhhhhhh" and let arms and legs relax. Enjoy!
