How Meditation Benefits The Brain
 
 
I recently read a very interesting article about how researchers at Yale university have shown how people who meditate on a regular basis can switch off areas of their brain which operate in the "default mode network", which is linked to largely self-centred thinking.

The researchers suggest that by "tuning out" the "me" thoughts, meditators develop a new default mode, which is more present-centred.

Meditation can also help deal with a variety of health problems, from quitting smoking, to coping with cancer...

Thank you again for taking time to read my Newsletter. I know how busy life can be and I really do appreciate all of the comments and feedback that I have been getting about this newsletter. If you wish to email me about any comments or what you might find of interest in upcoming newsletters, I would be pleased to hear from you.

This newsletter marks my one year anniversary of sharing these newsletters. Thank you so much to those who have been reading my sharing since last year and also to all of you who have forwarded the newsletter to allow the new people who have joined as a result of you finding this newsletter of interest.

I hope that you continue to find value in my sharing of information with you. Another way that I can add value to your life is through personal sessions and group sessions, some examples of the modalities I currently practice are listed below, it is my hope to assist you in your journey to live into your highest potential. I share a wide range of tools and together we will find the right approach to help you remove blocks to your success. These blocks are usually thrown up by a lifetime of subconscious and unconscious programming.

If you want more joy or to experience more fulfillment, together we can design a method which will help you to find both in your life. If you want to really understand why you are here on this earth. We can quite quickly find your inner knowing of your unique gifts and talents; opening up new choices for living into who you really are.

Inner Peace

This article is one that I ran in my very first newsletter, nearly a year ago.  I thought it was appropriate to run again with all of the possibilities that are in front of us. It is even more important now to find a place within our own mind which is a safe refuge from all of the daily chaos going on around us. Finding Inner Peace is also important to opening your consciousness so that you are able to experience an increased level of choice, as well as just BE-ing a happy person! 
 
 Inner Peace is something which has been coming up quite a bit for me lately. Do you get going so fast sometimes that you do not stop to appreciate the one person who has the ultimate effect on your life? The person who appears in the mirror every morning. We all get so many messages from the media, others and even that incessant internal dialogue which runs its story line for us every day about what isn't so great about us, or about our life that we forget about being our own best friend.

 How often do we stop and take inventory of what we are doing right in the world? How often do we appreciate our good points? Take just a few moments and thank yourself for one good thing about you, one thing you did right today, one person who smiled because of you, one shift you made in making your world become a world you want to be part of. 
 
Take the time to thank yourself and be in gratitude for one (or more) of your good qualities. If you do this you will create a moment of Inner Peace for yourself. Then watch how things around you begin to change!

You are unique in all the world, no one else has exactly your thoughts, exactly your experiences and no one else has lived life in exactly the way you have. One step each of us can take to widen our circle of compassion is to learn to embrace who we are today.  
 
We are part of the beauty of nature. When we create a space for us to feel happier about who we are, the rest of the world can enjoy the feeling of peace we create in that one moment of appreciation.

The Hows and Whys of Meditation as Complementary Therapy

This article will assist you if you are considering complimentary energy healing sessions as an addition to Traditional Medical treatment for an illness or disease.

As with any profession, there are energy healers who are highly trained, and those who are less highly trained. At this time, there are no guaranteed ways to know if the energy healer you have chosen is going to be helpful or not. Furthermore, there really is no concrete way of knowing an experienced energy healer from someone who is just beginning on their journey. You will need to rely on the integrity of the energy healer you have chosen to be honest with you about their experience level.

I am so enjoying sharing with others my learning as a meditation and life coach.  What I have learned so far has changed my life for the better and I am thrilled that it has also been able to shift the lives of many of my clients to a more positive place.  I have had my own battles with depression, feelings of low self worth and fearful thoughts. What I have learned has shifted me to feeling true happiness most of the time. I am now in a place where I can provide help and unconditional love to others in ways I would not have known before.  

I hope to be able to share with you a personal experience of the value of Meditation and positive self-talk along with the powerful emotionally and mentally healing techniques I have learned!  If you are in Calgary, I hope to see you at Meditation Mondays.  If not, remember that I would be happy to travel to your city or home and facilitate an event there!
