The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP) is pleased to release the Request for Applications (RFA) 14-10010 Reduce Tobacco-Related Inequities Interventions.

The purpose of the RFA is to fund 10 to 12 grants that will implement and evaluate innovative community-focused health education and health promotion interventions that will result in policy, system, and environmental changes.  The interventions will focus on preventing and reducing tobacco use among groups with high rates of tobacco use including:  African American; American Indian/Alaska Native; Asian/Pacific Islander; Hispanic/Latino; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender; low socioeconomic status; and people with mental health illnesses and substance abuse disorders (behavioral health community).

These grants are designed to create new local partnerships for CTCP and to support agencies as they enter into complex tobacco control work.

California public or private non-profit entities that are not currently funded by CDPH/CTCP as of January 1, 2014 are eligible to apply for these funds.
