Carpe Diem
                                                                        January 2013
Greetings!

Wow 2012 flew by. So many new things in my life this past year, and now 2013 brings new challenges and goals. First let me say how excited I am about leading you through 2013. The Board of Directors and Committee Chairs have all worked hard to hit the ground running in 2013. This year marks the thirty (30) year anniversary of CFPA. We have a great team assembled of new and seasoned members on the Board of Directors this year. If you have not had a chance to meet the Board of Directors please make it a point to do so at one of our future events.

Our Public Relations Committee just finished up this past month with the Annual Meeting/Holiday Party where we raised over $1,500.00 for the Children's Home Society. The 2013 Board of Directors met and shopped for Christmas gifts for 15 children. Thank you to all those who donated their time and funds to this worthwhile cause.

We started the testing center for CP Exam in 2012, and we were able to offer discounts to students and members who were taking the computerized Certification Exam offered by NALA. We intend to continue this benefit in the coming year. If you have plans to take the CP Exam in 2013, please contact the Testing Center Chair at testing@cfpainc.org for more information on when and where the testing center will be open.

We have some great plans for the coming year. We plan to implement a new mentoring program in the next few months. The Public Relations and CLE Committees are hard at work lining up some great events this year. The previous CLE Chair, Marisa Green, CP, FRP has passed the torch on to Phil Collard, CP, FRP, MBA. We look forward to Phil's plans for the coming year. Please keep an eye out for the announcement of our next CLE event coming soon.

As you all know, membership renewals are now past due. If you did not take advantage of the early renewal period, please send your renewal application in no later than January 31, 2013 or your membership will be terminated. If your membership is terminated, you will have to complete a new membership application. If you have any questions, you can contact the Membership Chair at Membership@cfpainc.org.

We have some exciting things in store for 2013! We hope to see more of you at our events this year.

We appreciate Orange Legal's sponsorship of our newsletter this month and as a supportive Patron Member of CFPA. If you wish to know more about Orange Legal, please click on the link to their web site.
