VFC Providers we need your help.
Maryland is trying to improve the use and usefulness of ImmuNet, our upgraded state immunization registry, to help improve vaccinations in Maryland and to bring Maryland in line with most other states and with national Healthy People 2020 targets.
Immunization registries are confidential computerized population-based systems that record vaccinations and related information. The overall benefit of immunization registries is well-established.
In terms of assisting with the potential costs associated with initially connecting to ImmuNet, some VFC providers are eligible for assistance from Maryland Medicaid. If you are a VFC provider that is participating with Maryland Medicaid, either as a fee-for-service provider or as a network provider with one of Maryland Medicaid's Managed Care Organizations (MCO), you may be eligible for financial incentives under the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program for adopting and then "meaningfully using" certified Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Depending on how many Medicaid participants you see, you could receive financial incentives between $42,500 and $63,750 over the six years of the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program.
If you have not already begun participation in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, you must start by the end of calendar year 2016 to obtain any financial incentives.
To find out if you are eligible for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, you can contact Maryland's Health Information Exchange (HIE), CRISP, at 1-877-952- 7477 or via email at support@crisphealth.org. By contacting CRISP, you may also receive assistance on selecting and implementing an EHR in your practice. For information on the program, please visit: https://meaningfuluse.crisphealth.org/
