GACCE Chamber Staff Updates

 
Passing of Nancy Kinsey
We were saddened to learn the passing of Nancy Kinsey on Thursday, December 18.  Nancy, retired Executive Director of the Development Authority of Walton County and 1992-93 Chair of GACCE, suffered a heart attack the week before her passing.  Nancy previously held executive positions at the Cherokee County Chamber and was the 1995 GACCE Professional of the Year.  Please keep her family in your prayers. 

Darien-McIntosh County Chamber
As of January 1, 2015, Mandy Harrison assumed the title of Executive Director of the Chamber. Wally Orrel will be the Executive Director of the McIntosh County Industrial Development Authority. Mandy has been with the Chamber for four years.

Dawson County Chamber
Melissa Mayton joined the Chamber in December 2014 as their Membership Director.  She is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication. Before joining the Chamber, Melissa worked for Community Newspapers Inc. in a variety of roles from reporter to marketing. She also served as an Ambassador for the Chamber.

2015 Eggs & Issues Breakfast

on January 13 in Atlanta

Members of Federation chambers will receive a discount on tickets.  More information here.  There will not be an annual meeting dinner the night before.  Instead, the Chamber will hold a black tie gala in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Chamber on April 25, 2015 in Atlanta.

  Scholarships for the 2015-16 fiscal year will be awarded during the 2015 Staff Development Conference in Valdosta.

GACCE Chamber Member Updates 
    The Chamber hosted its Annual Eggs & Issues Breakfast in December.  The Hall County State Delegation talked about issues that would be on the agenda for the 2015 Legislative Session.  The Legislators fielded questions about: transportation, education, water, healthcare, economic development, and the budget.  Over 450 attendees enjoyed breakfast and got to network with the elected officials.   

 
Perry Area Chamber of Commerce  

The Chamber held its 3rd Annual Taste of Perry event in December.  The evening showcased Perry's local restaurants and was held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and AgriCenter.  Guests enjoyed delicacies from 14 restaurants as well as a wine and beer tasting and a silent and live auction.

GACCE is excited to partner with Central Holidays to offer a 9-day, 7-night trip to Austria and Germany, featuring Oktoberfest!

September 30 - October 8, 2015

 
The trip price of $2,999 per person includes the hotel in Innsbruck, Austria; most meals; day trips; and airfare from Atlanta. 

The deadline to register for the trip will be June 30, 2015.
   
The fee listed above includes $200 in non-dues revenue which would be sent back to your Chamber for every passenger from your community.
