GRANT FUNDS FOR ARTS PROJECTS AVAILABLE
The Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance announces the availability of grant funds through the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) Project Stream. The PPA Program offers opportunities for arts organizations, community-based groups and individual artists to apply for up to $2,500 in funding to support performance activities, exhibitions, and other arts projects that are presented to the public. Funded events must take place between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014. The deadline for grant submission is June 28, 2013.
Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) is a partnership between local organizations and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA), a state agency. A total of 13 local organizations administer PPA and serve all 67 counties in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance is the partner organization in Southwestern PA, serving the counties of Armstrong, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Indiana, Somerset and Westmoreland. State government funding for the arts comes through an annual appropriation by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
Several workshops will be held for grant applicants. Anyone wishing to apply to the Project Stream is advised to attend a workshop to get detailed information about the application process. Applicants may attend a workshop in either location regardless of their home county.
