 GRANT FUNDS FOR ARTS PROJECTS AVAILABLE

 

 The Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance announces the availability of grant funds through the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) Project Stream. The PPA Program offers opportunities for arts organizations, community-based groups and individual artists to apply for up to $2,500 in funding to support performance activities, exhibitions, and other arts projects that are presented to the public. Funded events must take place between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014. The deadline for grant submission is June 28, 2013.

 

Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) is a partnership between local organizations and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA), a state agency. A total of 13 local organizations administer PPA and serve all 67 counties in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance is the partner organization in Southwestern PA, serving the counties of Armstrong, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Indiana, Somerset and Westmoreland. State government funding for the arts comes through an annual appropriation by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

 

Several workshops will be held for grant applicants. Anyone wishing to apply to the Project Stream is advised to attend a workshop to get detailed information about the application process. Applicants may attend a workshop in either location regardless of their home county.

 

Workshops are scheduled as follows:

Thursday May 30 - Armstrong County - from 3 - 5 PM at Ford City Public Library,
1136 4th Avenue, Ford City 
Tuesday June 4 -Cambria County - from 3 - 5 PM at Art Works in Johnstown,
413 Third Avenue, Johnstown

On line webinars on the grant application are also available and can be found at the Pennsylvania council on the arts website at  PA Council on the Arts   under the "Find It Fast" menu at the top of the home page.

 

PPA Project Stream guidelines and grant applications are available online on the PA Council on the Arts website at ppa.eGrant.net. Applications must be submitted electronically through the eGrant system on or before Friday, June 28, 2013.

Pennsylvania Presenters is a consortium of arts presenters and others working in the performing arts. Attendance at this conference is an opportunity to meet and network with other organizations that present performing arts.

This is the annual national conference of the AFTA and is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others living and working in many different areas of the arts.
