CAFE OUTER AISLE

"The Cafe is our most recent place where we express our passion for food."

OUR MISSION
Our mission for the Cafe is to serve healthy wholesome dishes using the ever-changing seasonal fresh  ingredients from farmers like us. Encourage a passion for cooking and
life long healthy eating.

OUR VISION
We'll  feature a blackboard menu, highlighting the finest produce and ingredients our region can offer, encourage recipe sharing, host cooking classes and demos, and for those on the run, we'll have take-out items
made in our certified kitchen.

ANNOUNCING OUR MOVE
& AN OPPORTUNITY FOR
YOU TO INVEST

Welcome Friends!

A Call for Support:
This is the biggest opportunity we have been gifted in our 20 year history!

We have partnered to purchase the building thatʼll enable Outer Aisle to accomplish its dream: to nourish and feed our community with real, seasonal food from our farm and kitchen and make a positive difference in the world.

To augment the manifestation of this dream, we are launching a 30 day Capital Campaign to raise $50K and we gratefully request your support.

We are moving Outer Aisle to a new location: 4000 square feet of space in the most modern commercial building in Murphys and a fully equipped 1000 square foot commercial kitchen. The previous owner of the restaurant is willing to sell us all of his equipment, an opportunity we canʼt refuse. You can help us to achieve that by investing in our Capital Campaign! Read on...

What's happening:
Our situation is unique and quite amazing. Weʼll have two years at a reduced rent to put into action the grand vision for the place: expand the produce market, change up the cafe to a restaurant serving both lunch & dinners, add a catering company into the mix, as well as educational workshops and classes, special events and we even have plans for a kitchen garden and micro-brewery. Itʼs a dream come true! Our farm is at the heart of the operation: pumping out fresh beautiful food on a constant basis funneling into our produce market, restaurant and catering company.  We want to expand our farm to keep up with new demand.

Our goals:
1. To acquire/purchase the necessary kitchen equipment to get us up and running.
2. To pay for remodeling, painting, signage and furnishings.
3. To buy the farmer a tractor.

You can support us in so many ways:
1. We are happy to accept your generous donations (of any amount).
2. Invest in your future by purchasing a share of $250 - $5000 and get paid back in food over a period of time. We are calling it the Share the Abundance 2013 (see below for more details).
3. Refer us to someone who is interested in leasing/donating/renting up to 4 acres of agricultural
land in the Douglas Flat/Vallecito/Murphys area with agricultural water.
4. Donate to our "Equipment Wish List".  Here's what we're looking for:
2x Vita Mix Blenders
2x Juicers
3x Dehydrators
Tractor

Share the Abundance 2013
You may be familiar with our previous Solar Share Campaign in 2010, where the community purchased "futures" to finance the purchase & installation of solar panels atop Outer Aisleʼs roof. It was so enticingly successful, even winning us an award for its ingenuity, we are re-introducing it again for this important next step in our evolution. Simply, in return for your upfront capital we'll pay you back over time in produce, restaurant purchases or anything you desire in our store.

When you invest in Outer Aisle you invest in a bright future: help us catalyze our commitment to:
  • creating meaningful work for people
  • increasing health and well-being for our community
  • holding space for the exchange of ideas and generating a hub for the expression of creativity
  • increasing local food production resulting in greater community resilience
  • providing educational opportunities ranging from gardening to healthy eating to building conscious awareness.

Outer Aisle FOODS & GOODS "Essentials for the 21st Century". Our mission is to facilitate a speedy transition to a sustainable economy by offering the essential tools, ingredients and knowledge to prepare us for the 21st century.

Behind the scenes of Outer Aisle is Taylor Mountain Gardens. Located just around the corner on Main Street in Douglas Flat, our nearly two acre "beyond organic" farm produces a large variety of seasonal vegetables including these seasonal highlights: summer heirloom tomatoes, fall cauliflower, winter carrots and spring potatoes to name just a few!

OuterAisle FOODS operates a year round box delivery program. We distribute the highest quality, local, seasonal and regional produce and products to members all over Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. We only purchase product from farms and producers who are committed to ecologically sustainable practices and go beyond the National "Organic" standards.
