We'll feature a blackboard menu, highlighting the finest produce and ingredients our region can offer, encourage recipe sharing, host cooking classes and demos, and for those on the run, we'll have take-out items made in our certified kitchen. |

We believe that good tasting food comes from great ingredients - and we've got some amazingly beautiful produce to share with you this week, with most of it coming from our farm.

Chilled Hass Avocado and Suyo Long Cucumber
Bowl $6/ Cup $4.50 SALADS Farmer's Summer Salad: Sweet crunchy Vogliotti "1892" red onions, French Fillet Beans and Suyo Long Cucumbers marinated in Grapefruit Balsamic vinaigrette tossed with farm fresh Sungold Cherry Tomatoes, Italian Parsley. Served with sliced Hass Avocado, Greek olives, seasonal summer fruit, Gourmet Cheese samples and Aria's French baguette. $12/ $7.5
Garden Salad:
Heap of garden greens topped with Diestel Turkey breast, Niman Ranch bacon, Heirloom tomato slices, cucumber, gypsy and purple peppers, hard boiled egg, avocado, apricot, pistachios, feta cheese, black pepper, and heirloom red onion. We are proud to sell fruits and vegetables from other growers that practice sustainable agriculture using beyond organic methods. We go farm direct sourcing the very best of the best from farmers that are equally committed to bringing about greater health.
EARLY JULY: The hot weather has kicked in the summer harvest of tomatoes! We have some awesome fresh dug Yukon Gold potatoes and tender French Filet beans. Open on 4th of July!!

RECIPE of the week
ERIC'S EGGPLANT & THAI BASIL SERVED ON TOASTED BAGUETTE 1 Globe eggplant 2 cloves of garlic minced ½ bunch Thai Basil, de-stemmed and roughly chopped 2 TSP Balsalmic Vinegar 6 TSP olive oil 3 ounces Feta Cheese, crumbled
Slice eggplant into rings ½ inch thick. Lay in frying pan with 2 TSP olive oil. Cook over medium heat until browned. Add 2 TSP olive oil and turn. Place garlic on top. Crumble feta cheese and Thai basil leaves. Drizzle remaining olive oil over eggplant and cover with a lid to steam slightly. When cooked drizzle Balsamic Vinegar over the dish and serve on toasted baguette.
FRUIT SALSA Cube any fruit (2 pounds) nectarines, pluots, peaches, melon 1 small onion, diced 1 clove garlic, finely chopped or minced 1 jalapeno, diced 1 ear of corn, shaved 2 splashes of fruit white basalmic (Marisiolo has the best selections around here) Olive Oil Combine all the ingredients, taste and adjust accordingly.

prepare us for the 21st century. Behind the scenes of Outer Aisle is Taylor
Mountain Gardens. Located just around the corner on Main Street in
Douglas Flat, our nearly two acre "beyond organic" farm produces a large
variety of seasonal vegetables including these seasonal highlights:
summer heirloom tomatoes, fall cauliflower, winter carrots and spring
potatoes to name just a few!
OuterAisle FOODS operates a year round CSA (Community
Supported Agriculture) program. We distribute the highest
quality, local, seasonal and regional produce and products to members
all over Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. We only purchase product from
farms and producers who are committed to ecologically sustainable
practices and go beyond the National "Organic" standards.
