Here at Youth Homes, we understand the importance of working one-on-one with kids. Staff in the Therapeutic Behavioral Services Program (TBS), are paired with children based on gender, age, language, and even personality. One TBS staff member, William Lowery recounts a recent experience where a child was very withdrawn and distrusting of adults and how he overcame this challenge.
"I realized I had to get down on his level and throw out being in control for just being present as a caring adult in order to break through."
It takes much thought and flexibility to successfully develop a trusting rapport with these children and active role modeling and play is an important piece of the puzzle in helping them feel comfortable. TBS provides behavior modification skills and tools to children at risk of losing their placement in school, at home, or within a group home.

When working with new clients, TBS staff ask key questions and listen intently. This is crucial in developing a personalized treatment plan for each individual child. Along the way, this plan is regularly assessed with key management staff to ensure success.
We consider all of our TBS staff heroes and we know they do it because they care. Youth Homes would like to thank all of our wonderful TBS staff for the important work they do.
You are changing lives and making a difference!
