Experience Is Necessary in Computer Forensics
|
For many companies, computers are the lifeblood of the business. They're used to store client contact information, sales reports, vendor data, and vital accounting information. While computers are one of the most powerful assets that drive a business, these devices also act as a target for greedy criminals and dishonest employees.
Finding a qualified investigator can save your client time and money, and ensure that evidence is collected correctly for court. When the security of a computer has been compromised, it is essential to conduct computer forensics.
The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team defines computer forensics as the application of "elements of law and computer science to collect and analyze data from computer systems, networks, wireless communications, and storage devices in a way that is admissible as evidence in a court of law." Proper Cell Phone Forensics Wins Cases
|
With 2.6 million-smartphone users worldwide2 and 7% of those users being device dependent1, it should come as no surprise that cell phones are becoming more and more relevant in civil and criminal cases.
Nearly two-thirds of the adult-population-a staggering 64%-currently own a smartphone1. This number is up from 35% who owned a smartphone in 20111. 60% of these adults use their phones to take pictures or video1, 55% receive their news on their smartphone1, 18% use their phones to make mobile payments2, and 37% use their devices to surf the web2. Imagine, with this degree of dependency, the relevancy of your client's phone to your case.
People often bring phones to our skilled investigators at Arkansas Investigations to recover messages, photographs, and call data. Limited by law as to what we can access and recover, we're able to retrieve data from over 2900 different devices (with more added daily).
An Arkansas Investigation's client recently located a cell phone in his home that was unfamiliar to him. He wanted to return the phone to its rightful owner, but was unaware of who it belonged to. We were able to access the data from the phone, and much to everyone's surprise discovered that the phone was an additional cell phone purchased by his wife, without his knowledge. Result? Busted.
Cell phone forensics can provide valuable data for your case, including:
- Video
- GPS
- Social media access
- Photos
- Call History
- Calendar
- Email
- Text Messages
- Files
- And more...
People video record everything nowadays. These videos could provide crucial evidence in your case, telling the story of... Read More |
