 Social Media: The New Key
Yes, social media is the new key. 72% of internet users are now active on social media (Bullas, 2014), and that activity should play a role in your due diligence and case development. 89% of 18-29 year olds and 72% of 30-49 year olds use Social Media. Of those, 71% use it from a mobile device (Bullas). That represents a staggering amount of informal information streaming out for consideration by those who have the time and skills to review it. We have both.

Forward thinking attorneys understand why people are drawn in droves to social media. It is a platform for self-expression. It shows "the other side" of people; the spontaneous, unguarded, personal side rarely shown in a witness interview or courtroom testimony. Arkansas Investigations professional social media searches bring to light text posts, pictures, videos, time-stamped whereabouts, personal bias, relationships and casual "confessions" you might not otherwise be privy to. Imagine finding a social media photo of two reticent witnesses who claim not to know each other - arm in arm! Or a cell phone video showing a client at gun range target practicing, and the client claims to have never fired a gun in his life. How would that affect your development of a case?

An Arkansas Investigations Social Media Search includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and over 29 other websites. We uncover... Read More

Computer and Cellular Forensics to Help Your Case
The digital age is here. That doesn't begin to address the 32% who own e-readers and the 42% of individuals who own tablets. These portable devices have created a society in which 67% of American adults admit that they check their phones for missed calls, text messages, and alerts whether or not their phone has rung or vibrated. Furthermore, 44% of cell phone users admit to sleeping with their phone beside them for fear that they might miss a call or alert.

More than a quarter of American adults have acknowledged they couldn't imagine living without their cell phones. So what's so important about this handheld device-and why can't many individuals put theirs down?

Many adults now use cell phones to manage their lives and stay connected to others. The use of calendars keep people organized, quick memos allow individuals to take notes on the go, a short text message saves time vs. a lengthy phone call. But what happens when you recognize patterns of usage changing? Is this an indication of deception? It could be...

Though limited on law regarding what information we can and cannot obtain, Arkansas Investigations is able to retrieve data from over 2,900 different phone models and various providers, with more added each day. We receive phones from... Read More
