SchiavettaGolf Academy Junior Clinics

SchiavettaGolf Academy will be holding weekly junior clinics every Thursday at Evies from 4-5 pm starting October 1st. These Thursday clinics are for girls and boys ages 9-15. This will continue throughout the year. Monthly membership $70 per junior, or $20 per clinic.

There will be an orientation Thursday, September 24th inside Evies ice cream parlor. At the orientation we will discuss any questions you may have, order junior clubs for those who need them, and review the itinerary. Registration is now open. Call Mary @ 941-350-1653 to register your junior. The clinics will cover full swing, putting, sand play, rules and etiquette, and also include skills challenges and games. It will be fun! There is a max of 10 for this clinic so space is limited - sign up your junior asap!

Junior Golf Donations Needed

We are looking for donations to our Evies/SchiavettaGolf Junior Golf Program. Through attrition and breakage, we need to resupply our golf club inventory. If you have any JUNIOR golf clubs that you are willing to part with, or would like to make a monetary donation, please contact Mary @ 941-350-1653. The money I receive goes to purchasing more golf clubs for our junior program. A lot of kids who come to the free clinic on Saturdays do not have clubs, so we make sure they get a club that is the proper size for them, whether they are lefty or righty, but as of late it is getting harder to fit them as our inventory has dwindled.

So -- please -- if you have clubs or money to donate - myself and the kids especially would appreciate anything you can do. Send out the word! We need clubs!

Chips & Pitches - 'Golfer of the Month' Feature

SchiavettaGolf Academy will now start publishing in this newsletter a featured Golfer of the Month. Please submit either yourself, or someone you know who has achieved one of their goals in golf. A junior, a senior, a high handicapper or an accomplished player are all welcome to submit their stories. The golfer who is featured will get 1 dozen golf balls, courtesy of SchiavettaGolf and The Callaway Golf Company.

PLEASE include a picture of this golfer, as it will also be posted in the newsletter.

LPGA Golf Legends ISPS Handa Cup Nov. 12-14

The LPGA Golf Legends will be playing at Palm Aire Country Club November 12-14, 2015.Please come out and enjoy these trailblazers and watch how they still play great golf. The Handa Cup will feature similar formats that the Solheim and Ryder Cups use. Nancy Lopez will be the captain of the American team and Sally Little will be the captain of the International team.

Some of you remember when the LPGA tour stopped here in Sarasota to play at Bent Tree. The LPGA Classic was held there from 1976-1988. Nancy Lopez won her first event at Bent Tree, and later added her 35th victory there that gained her entry to the LPGA Hall of Fame.
