Fun Fair 2015 Kick-off Meeting
Saturday, March 14 might seem far in the future, but it is only around 100 days away! Planning for Fun Fair 2015 has begun. Come join us at our kick-off meetings and find out how you can contribute to this wonderful FUNraiser and our largest FUNDraiser of the year, not to mention the kids favorite day of the year. We will have two meetings at Hope Perlish's House, 1816 MacArthur Drive, on Friday, December 5 at 10:00 am and Tuesday, December 9 at 1:30 pm.
We look forward to seeing you there, solidifying committees, and sharing all the fun ideas we have planned.

Maryland Science Center Assemblies
Courtesy of the PTA, the popular Maryland Science Center Science Assemblies are scheduled! Parents are welcome to attend the assemblies, held in the cafeteria.

Family Fun Movie Night
Please join us on Friday, December 12 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria for a showing of Happy Feet rated PG. Into the world of the Emperor Penguins, who find their soul mates through song, a penguin is born who cannot sing. But he can tap dance something fierce! Bring your own blankets and snacks! Holiday Breakfast for Chesterbrook Staff
On December 16 the PTA Hospitality Committee will treat the teachers and staff to a holiday breakfast. Please sign up today to bring a treat or two! Volunteers can drop treats off the day before the breakfast in the school office or, if you are bringing something warm, you can bring it on December 16 by 8:00 am! Sign up now! |
 Chesterbrook Outreach Success!
Thank you to everyone who donated to the PTA School Outreach's fall donation drive! We donated 15 bags of winter coats and clothing and 15 grocery gift cards to three different elementary schools.

Volunteer for International Night
Mark your calendar for Friday, February 6 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm for International Night! This delicious and fun event celebrates the wide array of cultures represented at Chesterbrook! We are looking for volunteers to represent the participating countries. You can choose a country you are from, a country where your ancestors lived, or just a place you love. Volunteers provide bite-sized snacks from their countries and complete a provided display board with fun facts, photographs, mementos, or other interesting items from your chosen country. Get Your Chesterbrook Spirit Wear
Spirit Wear has many sizes currently available and IN STOCK, including adult large and X-large pajama pants for $20, cozy gray sweatshirts for $30, pink ball caps for $18, sports tees for $16, and Chesterbrook water bottles for $10. Tie-dye tees and small navy hoodies for 4-5 year olds also are available. Questions about sizing? Email Carol! Clip Those Box Tops for Education  Thanks to our Chesterbrook ES community we earned nearly $650.00 for our school in this fall's Box Tops for Education submission! We really appreciate all of your work in making this bi-annual fundraiser a success! The spring submission deadline will be Friday, February 20, 2015. Ask your neighbors and friends if they can collect the coupons for us. Any little bit helps as each coupon is worth 10 cents to Chesterbrook. The upcoming holiday cooking will make collecting Box Tops so easy! All you need to do is cut out the Box Tops coupons found on General Mills products, put them in a baggie, and have your child drop it off in the "Box Tops for Education" container across from the school Media Center. THANK YOU to all the Chesterbrook families that have already donated and become a Family Friend of Chesterbrook in 2014-15. See the list of all our generous donors to date.
We invite all Chesterbrook families to participate in our "Family Friends of Chesterbrook" armchair fundraiser. The Friends program is one of Chesterbrook PTA's primary means to support critical student, school, and enrichment needs. We ask for everyone's support of $100 per family to reach our annual goal of $40,000, but your gift of any size is appreciated. There are two quick and easy ways to give: 1. You can donate online through the PTA website. 2. You can donate by check. Please make checks payable to "Chesterbrook PTA" and forward to school via backpack mail or mail directly to Chesterbrook PTA, 1753 Kirby Road, McLean, VA 22101. We also accept Corporate Matching Gifts if your company has a program (just send us the form from your company and the PTA will fill it out). Additionally, businesses that donate $500 to our "Business Friends of Chesterbrook" program are recognized on our website and in other ways at school. Questions?
