Get Your Pumpkins, Fall Plants, and Decorations & Support Your School!
This year the PTA is working with Meadows Farms Nurseries to hold a Pumpkin & Fall Plant Sale. Click below to order!
Pick up your order at the school's front entrance on Sunday, October 5 from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm and join us for some fall fun (weather permitting) including pumpkin decorating, crafts, and refreshments.
You can also pick up orders next to the trailers on Monday, October 6 from 8:45 am - 10:00 am and 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
Orders must be received by September 26.

Library Volunteers Needed
Looking for a flexible way to volunteer at Chesterbrook? Help re-shelve books in our beautiful school library! Volunteers sign up for either a morning or afternoon option on dates that work with their schedules and are free to work at any specific time that is convenient. There will be a training session with Sabrina Buckley, school librarian, on Friday, September 26 at 2:30 pm. If you are unable to attend this session, please contact Suzanne Tsitsibelis at suztsi@gmail.com and she will be happy to set

McLean 5K Run with the Warriors
Save the date! The McLean 5K Run with the Warriors will take place on Saturday, October 4. Join Chester the Chipmunk and all your friends at this years' McLean 5K. Students and families can get healthy this fall and support wounded warriors (all proceeds benefit Wounded Warrior Transitional Housing at Vinson Hall). Parents, students, administration, and families can run the race or sponsor a warrior. Register at www.mclean5k.com Family, student and team categories available during registration. This is a great family and community event - please join Chesterbrook in supporting our community, student health, and wounded warriors. |
 Calling All Italian Food Lovers! Chesterbrook PTA is having a Restaurant Night Fundraiser at Pulcinella on October 7 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pmThis is a great opportunity to meet other Chesterbrook Families, enjoy a delicious meal, and support your PTA. Here are a few details about the event: - All carry-out orders must be placed by phone. - You may place your carry-out orders starting at 4:45 pm. - Restaurant opens for dine-in at 5pm. - Pulcinella is located at 6852 Old Dominion Drive in Downtown McLean. - Pulcinella has gluten-free pasta. We know that last year's event was not perfect, however the restaurant ownership has assured us that they will be better prepared and this year's event will run smoothly. Last year's Restaurant Night raised several thousand dollars. We are thankful for the support of HBC Realty Group and Pulcinella for this event. We look forward to seeing you and your family at Restaurant Night! |

Walk to School Day is October 8!
Walk to school day will be on October 8, marking the 5th time Chesterbrook Elementary will celebrate this day! Last year our school had 257 students make the journey on foot or by bike! We look forward to increasing the number of participants and spreading the message about the benefits of walking.
Why Walk? Walking is great low-intensity physical activity. Reduction of traffic helps with congestion on the road and pollution. Plus, sharing time with your community and family members is a lot of fun!

Volunteers Needed for Liaison to Vinson Hall
The PTA would like to establish a committee to strengthen our ties with our Vinson Hall neighbors next door. This committee would meet with the community leadership on ways to increase communication and even look for volunteer opportunities. A military background is not necessary but could help. Please contact Elizabeth Hale at president@chesterbrookpta.org if you are interested.

Dr. Brad Sachs on Tuesday, September 30, from 7:00 pm -
9:00 pm, at The Alden Theatre in the McLean Community Center, located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue, McLean, VA.
The event, titled Building Resiliency for "Success" In Our Kids, is free, but space is limited.
Dr. Brad Sachs is a psychologist, educator, consultant and best-selling author.
