Final School Kit Orders Due Thursday!
The final chance to order your school kit with Innisbrook is this Thursday, July 31, at noon. So hurry to get your child's kit at the advertised price. After July 31, you will need to call Innisbrook directly and have the kit sent to your home. We will not be able to guarantee the advertised prices after July 31.
For additional information, you can read more about our new program here or read our FAQs. If you have further questions, please contact Elizabeth Hale.
You will need to order assignment notebooks for rising 3rd-6th graders, Quick Word Books for rising 2nd graders and two recorders for each 3rd grader (as well as new students in grades 3-6). These items are necessary but not included in the kits. The extra items will be sold in the school store during the first two weeks of school.

Do You Have a Rising Kindergartener?
Then join us for the final play date on August 15 from 9:30am to 11:30am on the Chesterbook playground for the chance to meet other rising kindergartners and their families. Remember, the school bathrooms will be locked, so plan ahead.
Want more details? Send an e-mail to kinders@chesterbrookpta.org to join the mailing list. Then watch your e-mail for the Evite.

Open House & Ice Cream Social!
Save the date for our Open House on Friday, August 29. Kindergarteners should come from 10am to 10:45am and Grades 1-6 should come from 2pm to 3pm. Everyone can join us for the annual ice cream social from 3pm to 4pm on the blacktop. Please note, the ice cream social is not a drop-off event. All children must be with an adult.

New to Chesterbrook?
Then join us for our New Parent Coffee on Monday, September 8 at 8:45am in the cafeteria. We will have light refreshments and you will have the chance to ask questions and tour the school.

PTA Directory
Good news! Work on the 2014-2015 PTA directory has begun. The PTA has partnered with AtoZ School Directories again this year to produce our directory. PTA members will receive a free copy of the new and improved printed directory, as well as access to a secure, password-protected directory app from AtoZ allowing you to view the directory on a smartphone or other web-enabled device where and when you need it!
Our goal is to have the printed directory available in October, but we need your help!
Returning Chesterbrook Families: If you are a returning Chesterbrook family and your family's information appeared in last year's directory, you will receive a "verification" e-mail from chesterbrook@schooldirectoryupdate.com by the first day of school, September 2. The verification e-mail will contain your user name, password, and instructions on how to access and verify your directory information, as well as access the AtoZ School Directory App. Please follow the directions outlined in this e-mail to update your family data by Monday, September 8. If you do not receive a verification e-mail, please contact us at directory@chesterbrookpta.org and we'll make sure to forward it to you.
New Chesterbrook Families: If your family is new to Chesterbrook this year (or your family's information did not appear in last year's directory), please e-mail us at directory@chesterbrookpta.org as soon as possible. Please include your full name, your children's full names, and their grades this fall. We will enter that information into the system and you will receive a verification request e-mail from our system with your login and password on the first day of school.
This year's printed directory will be spiral bound with larger print for easy reading and will include a resource guide listing sponsorships from local businesses that have helped the PTA defray directory costs. Anyone interested in promoting their business in the directory or placing a Kid's Classified Ad can e-mail AtoZ Directories at info@atozdirectories.com.
Questions? Please contact the directory team at directory@chesterbrookpta.org.

Open PTA Volunteer Positions
Looking to get involved at your child's school? The PTA has many positions available to fit all schedules. Look for details in your back-to-school folder, which you will receive at the open house. Currently, the PTA needs chairs or co-chairs for the following positions:
School Supply Kits (2 people). Work with the teachers on developing school lists and also work with Innisbrook to implement online sales. This is a great way to get to know some of the teachers and learn how to communicate with our community.
International Night (1-2 people). The chair (or co-chairs) will organize this very popular event featuring food from around the world. It takes place in the cafeteria and is scheduled for Friday, February 6.
Recycling (1-2 people). This group manages the recycling in the cafeteria and helps communicate the importance of recycling to students. This team also manages the recycling of chip and drink packets.

Summer Quest Success
Thanks to all the teachers and volunteers who made this year's Summer Quest a wonderful and enriching experience for all! Look for next summer's offerings in early spring 2015.
