Spring Security Tips
As the weather starts to improve trends show that so do break-ins. Here is a quick list of tips to prevent you and your home from becoming a victim.
- Trim hedges and trees that have grown too close to your building that could be a natural ladder.
- Consider building a fence or fixing an existing one, or even better, install a lock on it.
- Install motion-detector lights by your entryways or at the end of a long driveway
- Mount a "beware of dog" sign even if you don't own a dog.
- Inspect your locks and doors for damage or wear they might have taken over the harsh winter months.
- While inspecting your doors, evaluate them for fortification. Is your sliding glass door secure as well as your front door?
- Install a keyless lock to eliminate the old practice of hiding a key under a flower pot when you vacation this year.
- Lastly and most important lock your doors and windows when you are not home.
