Greetings!
AA Lock & Key is happy to announce the newest addition to the team! Wendy Majcher has joined us as our Customer Relations Specialist. We are very happy to have her with us. Stop in and say "Hi", and welcome Wendy to the staff of AA Lock & Key!
In our non-ending quest to stay abreast on security for your business, Dan, our Lock Tech, attended a manufacturer's class on mechanical and electrical exit devices. You can see below in more detail what Dan learned and how it can help you as our client.
Our security tip for you in this edition of Key Communications is to Know your Locksmith! We know this is repetitive information, but we just can't stress it enough, especially with all the scamming in the locksmithing industry. See the article below and save yourself a lot of trouble!
We hope you all enjoy your summer and be sure to follow the tips below if you are heading out of town for some R and R!

Newest Member of Our Team
Wendy will greet you here at the office and is the friendly voice at the other end of the phone when you call us. She can answer most questions and schedule work. Wendy comes with superb organizational skills and an attention to detail that is second to none! She is learning our new ESC dispatch program inside out and upside down! This will be a huge benefit to us, as well as to you, our client, as all records will be in one system and easily accessible for tracking your orders and invoicing. Wendy lives in Preston with her husband Paul and lovely daughters Samantha and Victoria. Wendy and her family enjoy camping and going to the beach.

Continuing Education

ED 105 Mechanical and Electrical Exit Devices
This class sponsored by Ingersoll Rand was a full day class on exit hardware. Dan learned the basic terminology and nomenclature of exit devices and their components, as well as installation and service tips. Topics covered included the difference between panic hardware and fire exit hardware, the four types of exit devices, how to match hardware and trim to the opening and how to make sure devices are adjusted and operating properly. Heavy emphasis was given to the importance of maintaining the integrity of a fire-rated opening.
On his return, Dan expressed that the class was a day well spent. He also observed he was the youngest attendee by at least 10 years (not a good indication about the availability of service technicians in the future)!
