Bonjour!

 Cajun Daughters

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Cold weather and Christmas decorations galore!  We couldn't ask for more!

If you get a chance to get down to Thibodaux, you must check out the Christmas Light Show in Downtown Thibodaux at the historic Dansereau House.  You can watch the spectacular light show every evening from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. through the Epiphany, January 6th.

And while you're downtown, you might as well have dinner at one of our wonderful downtown restaurants - Fremin's and Peppers Pizzeria have great food and great atmosphere!

Cabbage Casserole heading1The Cajun Way

This is an easy and delicious Cabbage Casserole that I make every year for New Year's.  The cabbage is bulky and makes a lot so I'll combine it in a huge bowl and then bake it in a throw-away aluminum turkey roaster.

   Patterson Christmas Lights Driving Tour

Idlewild Plantation Christmas Lighting Driving Tour

A winter wonderland of lights awaits you at Patterson's Kemper Williams Park in December. The driving tour winds through a fantasyland of lighted Santas, elves and reindeers. A train loaded with presents chugs along. Being in South Louisiana, of course you'll see a riverboat and shrimp boats float by. A lighted Wedell-Williams Model 44 plane pays tribute to Patterson's aviation heritage.

Be sure to roll down your windows to catch Christmas music playing along the mile-long route.

heading3Hey Boudreaux!

Clotilde is sitting on the porch sipping a glass of wine with her husband Boudreaux and she says, "I love you so much. I don't know how I could ever live without you."

Boudreaux asks, "Is that you, or the wine talking?"

Clotilde replies, "It me . . . talking to the wine."
