As we head towards Christmas and with Contracts Advance now being one month old...we though it important to provide clarity on one key question:

 

What is the difference between Contracts Advance and the other paid for/ non paid for tracker subscription(s) I already have? 

 

 

Contracts Advance provides opportunities for public sector CONTRACTS & FRAMEWORKS that are 6+ months out from contract end as opposed to tender opportunities that are 3-4 weeks out from a bidding opportunity.

 

The core benefit is that by knowing contract information 6+ months out from the end you will know which contacts/ frameworks to pursue and which ones to not to...

 

HOW?

 

Because by speaking to the public sector organisation concerned you will know whether it will do one of three things:

 

  • RENEW
  • HALT
  • EXTEND   

 

RENEW: If the contract/ framework is going to renew this will provide you with a focus to put a sales resource to it in order to build a relationship with both procurement and the decision makers that sit behind procurement.  To establish the EXACT need of the client and, before the procurement shutters come down, help to influence the bid specification.  This, in turn, will then help the bid team write a compelling bid.   

The above process is something you simply can't do with your existing tracker as the tender opportunity you receive is just before the bid writing stage - meaning by the time you receive the tender details in all probability the decision has already been made!

 

HALT: If the client has decided to halt the contract/ framework or if the it was a one off project - then this provides a business development opportunity to understand the 'what next question'.  Not with procurement as they will not know, but with the decision makers that sit behind procurement.  In our experience there is always follow on work in a guise to be had - it is a case of finding out what that guise it.  Your current tracker will not provide you with this information to make these decisions. 

 

EXTEND: If the client has chosen to extend then in all likeliness this will not present a business development opportunity as the door will be closed.  The only exception to this would be those pursuing service/ product requirements in to the NHS - in which case the Any Qualified Provider reform legislation will open this route as an opportunity.  Therefore Contracts Advance provides a go/no go filtering process on this outcome.

THE ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Given Contracts Advance can provide you with those contracts and frameworks that are 6+ months out you will be able to see those that are at their contractual mid way point - in our experience this is an
opportune time
to see faltering performance in contract delivery and therefore a golden time for your sales team to press home your service/ product advantage. Your current tracker service won't be able to provide you with this information readily.
 
 
Contracts Advance has been built as a business development site  and not as a raw contract data tool.  This means that from the information presented on contracts and frameworks through to the regularly updated  Hints & Tips section (we provide as part of the service), you will receive relevant data to make decision and guidance on how to use it.

The Non Paid For Sites

 

Yes they do exist and yes you can find some (but not all of your information through them).
