I have often regretted that I didn't take a unit of CPE while I was in seminary. I felt as a pastor this would be next to impossible to work into my schedule.   A CPE unit requires 100 class room hours and 300 clinical hours. This is often offered over a 10 week period and as a hospital chaplain intern.

I discovered, however, a unique CPE program (Caring Community CPE) that works wi
th my schedule. I have now taken two CPE units and it has been beneficial to me and to my church.
 
Caring Community CPE is a private program (not affiliated with a hospital). Caring Community offers extended units that can be parish based. The class meets on Mondays at Ginter Park Baptist Church, Richmond. The clinical hours can be met by visiting or counseling church members: in their homes, the hospital, nursing homes, my office or other locations. The extended unit is offered over 6 months (October - March).
 
CPE has helped me grow personally, spiritually and professionally as a pastor. Additionally, church members appreciated my increase in visiting. Introducing Rev. Warren Chesser

Sandy Creek Baptist Church is happy to welcome Pastor Warren Chesser and his wife Tania. They began their ministry their in January and have been a blessing to the congregation and community.
 
Pastor Warren Chesser and his wife Tania came from High Springs, Florida to serve at Sandy Creek. As a young child, Warren lived in Charlottesville and then graduated high school at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham .He answered the call to ministry in 1995 and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1999.

Tania is a stay at home wife supporting and working with her husband in ministering to their congregation and community. She is active in the Choir and loves to sing. They have four grown sons, four beautiful daughters-in-law and seven precious grandchildren.
 
He brings with him years of experience in many different areas in the ministry of the Church along with being a Pastor. He was involved in helping to expand Kingdom Education through the implementation of Forest Grove Christian Academy.
 
Brother Warren and Tania look forward to what the Lord has in store for them at Sandy Creek Baptist Church and also as new transplants to Amelia. They would love to have you come and worship with them at Sandy Creek Baptist Church or stop in and say hello!
