Mary and Richard Solari Cancer Center Dedication Ceremony
Domincan will celebrate the dedication and naming of the Mary and Richard Solari Cancer Center, located across from the Dominican Hospital, on Thursday, January 31, 2013, from noon to 2 p.m. This celebration marks continuing growth, and the next step for Dominican Hospital's cancer program. Lunch will be provided. RSVP required by Jan. 26th.

Agri-Culture's Scholarship Program
Agri-Culture is now accepting applications for its 2013 Spring Scholarship Program for students majoring in agriculture. The Jimmie Cox Memorial Scholarship is a $2,000 award for a student entering or currently attending college and majoring in agriculture. The American Agcredit Scholarship is a $2,000 award from American AgCredit. The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

The Pew Charitable Trust - Center on the States reported yesterday in their study, A Widening Gap in Cities, that the pension deficits of the 61 cities they evaluated totaled $217 billion. The National Public Pension Coalition promptly responded that the study used stale data and would be used to damage both public employees and the communities they serve by unscrupulous advocates.
