Lorraine Brock, President
|
Fans and Followers, a word from our President:
I have been spending a few days a month in Tyler, Texas attending networking events and shooting a CBS 19 TV home makeover segment that aired recently. Three of our GO Team members took to the road with a vehicle full of products to change the life of our client. It was a fun couple of days of shooting and as you will see below, a successful makeover.
We have another announcement that will make you smile. Get Organized! has decided to select a home in the coming months to decorate for Christmas the first week of November. While all the details have not been worked out, we will be using this project to assist a number of our organizers in fine tuning their Christmas decorating skills. They will practice making beautiful bows, properly place lights on trees, and understand overall Christmas decor. Make sure you stay connected to us via our Facebook and our GO Newsletter for details on this FREE organizing experience.
With back-to-school right around the corner, it is so important that you start off on the right track. Stock up on supplies not only for school but to create a station or area in your home for homework time. Create a routine for nightly pickup of toys and personal items before going to bed to insure order in the home. Lastly, make sure each night you and your kids set out everything you are going to need for the next day. Use lists or keep notes on your calendar to make this process easier for everyone.
We as parents only have a few short years to teach our kids all they will need to know in the real world. Start now by assigning responsibilites they will use in all areas of their lives.
May you have a great first day of school with your children,

We love our pets, but their gear can quickly get disorganized. Here are some tips to bring order to their supplies:
- Use a file folder to hold their veterinarian records, license receipts, and similar paperwork. If you have more than one pet, use a file folder for each. Store these files in a filing cabinet or digitize onto computer.
- Declutter their old supplies: broken toys, old or expired treats, and items for pets you do not have anymore. If these are still good, donate them to a pet shelter or fellow pet owner.
- Consider where you will use the supplies you intend to keep and store them in convenient location. For example, food and bowls would be kept in the pantry or laundry room if that is where you feed your pets. Leashes and waste bags can be kept on a hook by the door you exit to go on a walk. Kitty litter can be kept near the litter box.
- Use large air-tight containers to store food safely from pests. These also work well to hold unused kitty litter.
- Place a wipeable rubber mat under food and water dishes to minimize mess. If dish has a small rim, spilled water will not spread beyond the mat and harm wood floors.
- Keep toys in a basket in the family room or wherever your pets tend to play so they are readily accessible by the pet or you.
- Use a divided basket or picnic caddy to hold the grooming items so you can take them outside or wherever you bathe and groom your pets. Designate a place to store the caddy when not in use, perhaps near the pet food storage area, bathroom cabinet, or garage.
With a little effort, you can get your pets' gear organized and accessible when you need them.

Tired of arriving at your destination with wrinkled clothes? Here is a garment bag that reduces wrinkles by rolling clothes gently over a storage cylinder instead of crushing them tightly together in one compartment. The bag holds about two suits or dresses in the main compartment and has several mesh compartments for flat storage of ties, t-shirts, and similar items. Shoes, toiletries, and other bulky things are stored in the cylinder that the garments wrap around. This bag is small enough to carry over your shoulder for a weekend trip, but larger bags are available to hold more clothing for a longer trip. These can be found at Men's Wearhouse or you can buy directly from SkyRoll with free shipping and toiletry kit.

There's no getting around it: cords are a necessary part of our lives. Even though we need them to power our devices, they do not have to clutter our view.
Here is a tool that can help you hide cords in plain sight. Command Clear Cord clips come in various sizes and are available for round or flat cords. Attach these clips near the baseboards in a line from the item that uses the cord to the electric outlet. Cords will stay neat, organized, and hidden in their surroundings. And for safety, they will stay out of the way. No more tripping over loose cords. Like all Command products, these clips can be removed easily without damaging the wall. |
