Have you ever had something that made you feel proud but in the most awkward of ways? Well it happened to me this month and I want to humbly share it with you.
As many of you know my role as the owner of Get Organized! is three fold: marketing, business development, and speaking about the topics I love. Recently, I spoke at the Grapevine Library for the second time and had a full house of attendees.
Over the last eight years of media events, speaking engagem ents, and workshops in the community, I have met many people who follow me or notice me when I am out and about. I am so honored that people find such value in what I am doing. But sometimes one just has to be put in their place.
Right before the library event started, I slipped into the ladies room and upon entering the stall I sat down and then looked up and noticed "Me" on the wall of the stall door. You know you have arrived when you get posted on a bathroom stall door. It was so funny I decided to go back and take a picture to share with my fans and celebrate this momentous occasion.
I also wanted to share our 2015 Training video that we put together from our training days in February. It is such a fun video and you will love the kids' reactions to their newly organized rooms.

New Products for Organizing
Get Organized! recently spent a day learning about new products at IKEA. Here are just a few of our favorites.
Made from a renewable source, this set of three nesting boxes comes in natural, black, and green/blue and is a good solution for storing smaller items neatly on a shelf, desk, or table beside a chair.
This over-sized clipboard features a stand on the back so you can place it on a tabletop. It will be handy to post the menu at a party, show off family photos, or just leave notes for family members. Use it in a home office with coordinating desk accessories.
One very exciting product coming soon will be wireless charging stations such as this table lamp below. Wireless charging will also be available in a night stand, floor lamp, and 3-port USB. You can read more about using the charging stations here.

Keeping Track of Kids' Accomplishments
Your kids have done some amazing things this year, so don't let the school year end without starting or updating their record of accomplishments. All you need is a 3-ring binder and some page protectors to create a lasting portfolio.
As you sort through the school year's events, put their awards, honors, report cards, volunteer service hours, and similar successes in the page protectors. Add a list of organizations that they were in, leadership positions they held, and jobs they performed.
When it comes time to apply for scholarships or colleges, they will have a ready reference of all their experiences, with dates, so that the application process will be less stressful. An added bonus is that they can see how far they have come and feel proud of their accomplishments!

Organize for Baby
Babies may be small, but they require a lot of gear! Stay organized with these helpful ideas:
These colorful knobs are perfect for hanging diaper bags, tiny jackets, and other baby gear. They attach with adhesive or with screws and come 5 in a pack.
This versatile storage system comes in a variety of colors, sizes, and configurations, so you can choose according to your needs. The tubs and boxes can organize baby supplies, toys, and clothes. They are economical since they continue to be useful as the child grows.
Small baskets like these are perfect for setting up mini diaper changing stations in various rooms around the house. Stock them with a few diapers, wipes, plastic bags, and other gear so you never have to travel far to change the baby. The baskets are pretty enough to be left in sight but should be stored out of reach of little ones.
Since babies grow fast, storing the clothes for upcoming seasons can be a challenge, especially if generous friends give you their older babies' outgrown items. These stackable bins with built-in labels work with dry-erase pens, so you can easily change the label as you change the contents. They come in a set of six. Alternatively, you can use banker's boxes, which also stack well.

Savvy Ways to Save
Vacation Photos
If you're planning a vacation soon, why not also plan to take family pictures when everyone is relaxed and happy? Ask friends who are traveling with you, someone on the beach (even a teen), or an off-duty hotel staff member to snap some photos of your family in exchange for $25-50 for an hour of their time. Bring along your tripod for best results. You will have your Christmas photos ready well in advance of December!
