Roland Sebastian Martin, born November 14, 1968, is an American journalist and syndicated columnist with Creators Syndicate. Martin is also an author. He is a commentator for TV One and the host of News One Now, a one-hour weekday morning news show on the network. He was also a CNN contributor, appearing on a variety of shows, including The Situation Room, Anderson Cooper's AC360, and many others. In October 2008, he joined the Tom Joyner Morning Show as senior analyst.

The great grandson of Haitians, a revelation Martin made during the 2009 Inaugural Ball, he is working on a project along with Haitian-American State Senator Kwame Raoul, who replaced President Barack Obama in Illinois. Martin traveled to Haiti to report and contribute to improving the living condition of the Haitian people.

As an author, Martin has written several books including Speak, Brother! A Black Man's View of America, Listening to the Spirit Within: 50 Perspectives on Faith and The First: President Barack Obama's Road to the White House as originally reported by Roland S. Martin.

During the 1990's, Martin was a contributor on the BET Sunday morning news program Lead Story. He is the former executive editor of the Chicago Defender. Martin hosts a morning radio talk show on WVON in Chicago, and was with CNN as a contributor from 2007-2013.

In 2008, he was inducted into the Texas A&M University Journalism Hall of Honor. An insightful and provocative analyst, Martin has appeared numerous times on a variety of American networks, as well as media outlets in Canada, Columbia, Italy, Australia and South Africa.

In 2009, CNN was awarded the Peabody Award for its outstanding 2008 election coverage, of which Martin was a member of the Best Political Team on Television. Martin, named one of the top 50 political pundits by the Daily Telegraph in the United Kingdom. He was also awarded the 2008 President's Award by the National Association of Black Journalists for his work in multiple media platforms.

He is a 1987 graduate of Jack Yates High School-Magnet School of Communications, and a 1991 graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in journalism. In May 2008, Martin received a master's degree in Christian Communications from Louisiana Baptist University. 

In July 2013, Martin became the host of TV One's first live one-hour, weekday morning news program titled News One Now. The program premiered on November 4, 2013.
