SENIOR PET SAFETY NET:
Norman, The Cat Who Fetches
Norman may have been jealous of a family dog -- that would explain why he enjoys playing fetch.  Good luck getting him to retrieve what he fetches, however.

This 12-year old Tabby can be a little shy around new people, but it won't be long before his playful side comes out.  He'll punch at balloons, chase a laser pointer, and is thoroughly amused at a ball of yarn.  Although he likes to be active, he's declawed and happy to be an indoor cat. He's been recently vetted, had his teeth cleaned and is covered by pet insurance (which has never been used).  And he's perfect with the litter box.  He's gotten along great with other cats and dogs.

Sadly, Norman's owner in North Bethesda is seriously disabled by recent surgeries and may have to relocate to a living situation that doesn't allow pets.  Please help us find a new forever home for this 12-year old cat (who thinks he's 12 months old!).

SENIOR PET SAFETY NET:
He Can See What You Say
Tuppence is an adorable Maltese, with an incredible smile!  He's been a lovable, faithful companion for a senior lady with dementia.

Tuppence's natural habitat is your lap.  He makes friends with other dogs and cats in the house and is in generally good health -- despite the fact that he's deaf.  But he's bright and responsive to hand signals, so he'll know exactly how to respond in any situation.  He's housebroken, and has also been trained on pee pads for times when he can't get outdoors.  He's great on the leash and good with children.  In perfect health, Tuppence also recently had his teeth cleaned.

Tuppence's owner has gone to a nursing home, so he's currently being fostered by a daughter-in-law in Rockville.  But it's not an ideal situation, since the daughter-in-law's family already has three dogs.  Please share Tuppence's story and help us find him a new lap to curl up in!

Akira:  Too Smart For His Own Good?
Akira's a gorgeous Tuxedo cat, perfectly dressed for all occasions!

Our black-and-white friend takes curiosity to the extreme.  If there's a closed door, he'll want to figure out how to get his paws on the doorknob to open it.  If there's a cabinet, he'll want to paw his way in.  He wants everyone's attention -- and that includes strangers who stop by.  He's super-friendly, always on the lookout for a lap to sit on.  Hard to believe he's sixteen years young!

As a result of a divorce, Akira is at
loose ends.  His owner in Chevy Chase owns another cat with special needs, and in the new living situation only one pet is allowed.

We are anxious to find a happy new forever home for Akira, preferably as an only cat.  And with adorable Akira, we promise you won't need another cat!
