Duke:  'Till Death Do Us Part
Duke's story is another example of the undying love and dedication dogs have for their owners. This handsome Chihuahua was the constant companion of his mistress in Virginia.

When his mistress passed away, Duke didn't want to leave her side.  He just stood and barked, hoping his mistress would wake up.  When he was found he was dehyrdated and dirty, and his toenails were overgrown.  Sadly, he was taken to the local kill shelter and put on the euthanasia list.

Duke's lucky day came when our friends at Dogs Deserve Better rescued him.  And House With A Heart stepped up to foster little Duke, so we're sharing Duke's story with you, to help us find him a new forever home as soon as possible.

And gosh, he is adorable!  He'll follow you like a shadow, and he loves everyone he meets.  He's housebroken, and he's also been trained on pee pads.  He has co-existed with other dogs -- but he likes his own space, so a home where he could be the "only dog" might be best.  Due to Duke's age we think he should be in a home without young kids.

Adopt Duke and he'll be snuggling in your lap (or in bed with you) tonight!
