The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program. If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

  

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.


As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

Shiloh, The Free Range Beagle
When we say "keep an eye on Shiloh", we mean it. 

Shiloh is a gorgeous tri-color Beagle with magnificent brown eyes of his own. He also has an urge to roam now and then, so a fenced yard is a good idea.  (Any squirrels in your yard should be very afraid.)  

You can also satisfy Shiloh's travelling instincts by taking him for a walk -- he's great on the leash.  He's also a wonderful companion on car trips.

At home, Shiloh is perfectly housebroken and gets along fine with other dogs and is very affectionate toward humans.  Other than a very slight heart murmur, too minor to treat, he has no other health issues.  Most of the time, he's perfectly happy to just curl up in a cozy corner for a snooze.

Shiloh's owner in North Carolina passed away a few months ago, and he's been in foster care, waiting for a new permanent home to call his own.  Please share Shiloh's story and let's get him settled in for good!

Diamond:  Look At Her Sparkle
Diamond is a "Terrier mix", and the result is delightful.

This girl is always on her best behavior, with lots of personality.  She's been a great family dog, good with other dogs, cats and kids, but she loves attention so she'd be thrilled to be the "only dog".

Healthy and housebroken, Diamond was surrendered to our friends at the Gloucester, Virginia shelter because the owner was no longer able to keep her.

A shelter is no place for this bright, fun-loving dog.  Will someone please take Diamond home?

Hunting For A Home:  Betsy
Hounds are known for their abililties as hunting dogs, but somehow Betsy doesn't seem to be all that interested in looking for a fox right now.  

We're not really sure if she's had any practical experience as a hunting dog.  She certainly has the brains for it -- she knows all the commands and is eager to please.  Mostly she's been a faithful, energetic family companion dog, great with kids and other pets.  She's in perfect health and should be well-housebroken -- once she gets back at home.

And that's the problem -- Betsy was turned in to the Gloucester, Virginia shelter by an owner who could no longer care for her. Let's spread the word and see if we can hunt down a new forever home for Betsy!

What a face!  Savannah is a spectacular Old English Bulldog, one of several dogs from Furever Friends Of The South K-9 Rescue in Alabama.

Savannah is spayed, housebroken and a perfect family dog.  She's in a foster home situation, and Furever Friends is looking to get her and a few other wonderful dogs out of rescue & foster
