The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program. If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

  

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.


As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

Adopt Hobie - That's An Order!
What an adorable guy! Hobie is a Lab/Chow mix whose owners are in the military, living in Drayden, Maryland. They are being redeployed to housing out of state that doesn't allow dogs.

Hobie's pretty healthy for a 15-year old, but we think he's better off finding a new forever home without the stress of a cross-country move. Hobie's losing a bit of his hearing, and his hips are showing some signs of arthritis but he is still a happy, active member of the family.

You can count on Hobie to be an obedient, lovable companion who'll get along great with other dogs and kids.  He's perfectly housetrained and crate-trained, although he's so well-behaved he really doesn't need to be crated!  He'll curl up anywhere for a nap.

We're so sorry to hear about service members who have to let go of their pets due to re-deployment.  Whoever steps up to adopt Hobie will be giving a service family -- and Hobie -- a wonderful gift.

Choose The Charming, Cheerful Chihuahua From Chantilly
Oreo's the charming Chihuahua from Chantilly, Virginia. He's hard to miss, with his beautiful markings. And since he loves companionship, you can count on him to stick with you!

He has lived most of his life with another Chihuahua, who has been adopted separately.  But he hasn't really been socialized much with other dogs, so we think he needs to be an "only pet".

Oreo's only health condition is allergies, which are treated effectively with a daily dose of Atopica. He loves food - 'food motivated' according to his owner - and will follow you everywhere!

He's crate-trained, housebroken -- and unfortunately, soon to be homeless as the owner moves to a new home where dogs are not allowed.  Can you help us find a new forever home for this fabulous furball?
