The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program. If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

  

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.


As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

 

HWAH truly believes:  "Saving one dog might not change the world.  But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

Lonely, Lonely Dobey
Our friend Dobey is a Rottweiler with maybe a bit of Labrador mixed in.  She's a marvelous dog, wonderfully calm and quiet.  She now finds herself in the Gloucester County, Virginia animal shelter because her lifelong owner has died and there were no family members or friends to take her in.  How sad, that this love bug of a dog is alone all of a sudden, thrown into a shelter situation, not knowing what happened to her longtime owner.
 
Dobey is in perfect health, although she doesn't get the kind of exercise she needs in the shelter and she's put on a little weight.  She seems well-housebroken for a shelter dog and she thrives on the company of people and other dogs.  She'll do best in a home where there are people around as much of the day as possible. 

Dobey has been incredibly patient and well-behaved in the shelter.   She just waits and wishes for someone to bring her a treat or take her for a walk.  Most importantly, she wishes for someone to take her to her new forever home where she will never be alone again.  Help us get the word out and make Dobey's wish come true!
