Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program. If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:  "Saving one dog might not change the world.  But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

To The Max!
Now there's a face that will melt your heart!  Max is a mixture, probably a bit of Shepherd, some Malamute, and maybe a bit of Setter thrown in.  And once he sets those beautiful brown eyes on you, he'll be your best friend and happy companion.

In his younger days Max was a ball of fire, always ready for action.  Now he's mellowed with age, still energetic but without the irrational exuberance.  Although he has no problems with kids, he gravitates toward adult company.  And he gets on very well with female dogs, but seems to resent other male dogs.

Max has two health issues.  His thyroid condition requires daily pills.  And he has a form of diabetes that requires injections of Desmopressin.  Although he's housebroken, he needs to get out often because the diabetes makes him thirsty.

Max's owner in Milford, Connecticut is forced to relocate out of state, and her new home won't take dogs.  She will provide several months of medication and a financial donation for whomever can provide him a happy new forever home.
