Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program. If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:  "Saving one dog might not change the world.  But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

An Odd Couple Of Cats:  Kengie & Fabio
FABIO
If you happen to be an amateur or professional cat psychologist, you could make an interesting case study out of Kengie and Fabio.  Kengie is a Maine Coon mix and he's the "loner" of this pair.  He's a stay-at-home type who likes his crate.  But when the family has mealtime, Kengie loves to get your attention!

KENGIE
But since Kengie has a tendency toward diabetes, he's kept on a strict high protein cat food diet.

Then there's Fabio, a Tabby mix who is Mr. Outgoing.  He'll climb and run around like a 2 year old. He's friendly, sweet, curious -- and travels well in the crate.  He appreciates a little affection now and then.  Fabio has a tendency toward bulimia, which is simply treated with the same high protein cat food that Kengie eats. Both are happily housebroken and provide the kind of entertainment you can only get with two cats together.

This couple has bonded over the years, living together in Frederick, Maryland.  But now their owner is facing a necessary move to a rental property and these two aren't allowed.  We'd like to keep them together but it isn't absolutely necessary.  What is necessary is that we find them forever homes and keep them out of the shelter!  Help us spread the word!

KENGIE:  11-year old Maine Coon mix, neutered male
FABIO:  12-year old Tabby mix, neutered male

Both up-to-date on vaccinations.  Both are on high protein cat food diets (Fabio has a tendency toward bulimia, Kengie a tendency toward diabetes).  No other health issues.
