Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program.

If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:

"Saving one dog might not change the world.
But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

Maxwell... Smart!
This very bright Cockapoo is Max, and take it from us, he knows what he likes!  He likes to have company for breakfast - he'll tell you to come sit with him as he's eating.  He likes to play catch, although at his age he should take it easy.

If you take Max for a walk, you can expect to stop every so often, because Max will walk up to everyone, wanting to be petted.  He prefers companionship but if he's alone he'll happily snooze all day -- he's well-housebroken.  He likes to sleep in cozy places, like a pile of laundry in your closet.

Max takes medications for heart and liver issues - the vet advises not to vaccinate Max at his age (15).  There's a growth on his abdomen that's benign, and not causing any pain.

Max's owner will soon be losing her home in Boynton Beach, Florida and relocating to her son's rented home in Stafford, Virginia, where an additional dog will not be allowed to stay.

A shelter for Max would be unthinkable.  Help us spread the word and find Max a new forever home!
