The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home. This is a service offered by HWAH to help senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program.

If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents. Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life. They will not be put up for adoption.

Your New Buddy, Ready For A Snooze

We're getting the word out about Buddy, a beautiful English Setter from Silver Spring, Maryland.

About ten years old, Buddy's been a happy part of the family all his life, always friendly with an assortment of other dogs, cats and kids. He enjoys the occasional walk on the leash but he really likes to snooze - like a big friendly cat, wearing a dog suit.

Buddy has a slightly deformed hip joint, which doesn't cause him any problems as long as he stays trim. He's lost some hearing, and had a benign rectal tumor removed. He does very well on a grain-free diet.

Unfortunately, Buddy's family is going through a difficult divorce and a desperate financial situation. If no one steps up to adopt Buddy he'll probably end up at the Montgomery County shelter.

We're spreading the word to keep Buddy out of the shelter. Will you share this with your friends and help us?
